Our Talon line attachment device has won a number of prestigious awards, including the 2009 British Invention Show and the 2010 International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva.
The Talon is a very simple to use, yet highly effective device which has been designed especially for the marine market, Yachting Monthly called it the "Clever Claw". It can serve a multitude of applications which require a line to be quickly attached to a person or object and is certainly not limited to being a mooring and rescue solution.
TALON - MOORING
Talon has been specifically designed to simply slip onto the most common types of boat hooks. When used in conjunction with any suitable size boat hook, or pole, the device operating range can be extended for remote attachment and detachment without having to leave the deck. Talon is perfect for hooking onto a mooring buoy, ring or dock cleat up to 45 mm diameter and just as easy to release remotely. No more hanging off the deck precariously trying to reach a mooring ring. The Talon has proven to be invaluable for Mediterranean style stern-to mooring or picking up a lazy line, particularly when shorthanded or with novice crew, making the whole process so much easier and far safer. The Talon is also ideal for elderly or disabled sailors who have difficulty in getting on to a pontoon or jetty.
TALON - RESCUE
Talon can be used for a fast and efficient means of assisting with a man overboard casualty, river, confined space or ice rescue. It has been designed to effortlessly slip onto to a belt, harness, webbing, ring or even an animal collar either directly in hand or in extended reach, when slipped onto any suitable sized boat hook or pole. The integrated sturdy grip and handle aid the manoeuvring and hauling of the casualty. More importantly it requires no assistance from the casualty, so is invaluable for a person who maybe in an incapacitated or unconscious state.
TALON - UNDERWATER
Solidly constructed from stainless steel, the Talon is extremely robust and designed for the harsh marine environment. It is easily used for attaching to underwater objects in low visibility and cold conditions. It makes an ideal tool for a diver to use to recover underwater items or even to assist another diver.
